The former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan who is also the chairman of the political party – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on 12th of March suggested that he has a contingency plan in case he gets arrested. According to media sources, he did not share “the plan” and stated that it would be shared with the public at the right time. This announcement came after his party’s election rally in Lahore got postponed.
Precisely, the PTI chief Khan said, “In case I am arrested, we have a plan ready which will be shared with the nation when the time is right.”
Imran Khan talked about the three other plans he had been planning in case of the unfortunate arrest of him and other main leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Although he avoided sharing the names of the people who would lead the party in this situation.
CHARGES ON IMRAN KHAN
Earlier this month, Imran Khan was booked on charges of murder and terrorism along with 400 other people. This came after a clash was reported between the police personnel and Tehreek-e-Insaf members during the party’s rally which also left one activist dead and many injured. The police had also arrested more than 100 PTI workers for the same.
As per news sources, another FIR was lodged against Imran Khan and the senior PTI leaders on Thursday, for attacking police personnel and using foul language.
In the beginning of the month, a non-bailable arrest warrant had been issued against Imran Khan related to the Toshakhana case. A plea to withdraw the arrest warrant was made by Khan but was rejected by the court.
The PTI Chairman Imran Khan stated on Sunday that the current coalition government ruling the country wants him arrested. He reasoned that it would help them win the upcoming elections as, otherwise, they would not be able to defeat Imran Khan in elections, even with the help of neutrals.
Imran Khan talked about the country being in a “quagmire” and said that there is no other way to get out of such a situation except through transparent elections.
Apart from this he also slammed the coalition government by claiming that they transferred Pakistani money to offshore accounts.
The ex-Prime Minister said that only the judiciary could save the country from the mess that it has plunged into.
