The court has also denied Daler Mehndi’s request for a release on probation, according to the complainant’s attorney, Gurmeet Singh.
In 2003, Daler Mehndi was charged with enticing individuals to travel overseas by portraying them as troupe members.
In the lawsuit, Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh are charged with accepting money to take individuals abroad against the law while disguising themselves as “troupe” members.
Along with the Indian Passport Act, Daler Mehndi and Shamsher Singh were prosecuted under the IPC’s provisions for conspiracy and people trafficking.
In 2018, Daler Mehndi and Shamsher Singh were each sentenced to two years in prison. But they were granted bail, and they appealed.
A case against Daler Mehndi was filed at the Patiala Sadar police station. In the lawsuit, it was claimed that Shamsher Singh and Daler Mehndi travelled with two troupes to the US in 1998 and 1999.

According to sources, when a guy by the name of Bakshish Singh filed a case against the two brothers, 35 complaints were made against Daler Mehndi and his brother.
The brothers, according to the complainants, were supposed to help them relocate illegally to the United States by taking “passage money” from them, but they were unable to do so.
Additionally, the complaint claimed that the singer had demanded payment before flying him to Canada.
