In the global list of best cuisines of the world, the TasteAtlas World’s Best Cuisine Award 2022, India secured 5th position. Italy and Greece are in first and second position respectively. Spanish cuisine is in 3rd place and Japanese is in fourth. India got 4.5 points/ ranking.
The ranking is based on the audience rating poll for ingredients, dishes and beverages.
The list mentions various restaurants and dishes voted the best in India.
The results of the TasteAtlas awards 2022 mention that Garam Masala, Ghee, Butter Garlic Naan, Keema, Paneer Tikka, Malai Kofta, Rasgulla and Malai are the best-rated foods in India and 411 more dishes.
Shree Thaker Bhojanalay- Mumbai, Girimanja’s- Mangluru, Dum Pukht- New Delhi, Comorin- Gurugram, Bukhara- New Delhi and 450 other places are mentioned in the list to try Indian cuisine.
Famous for its Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji- Mumbai is in first place among the Indian cities with 80 foods and 106 worth-mentioning restaurants. New Delhi for 51 foods and famous for Chole Bhature came second.
The Taste Atlas also tweeted that ‘Every year when we publish the list. There are a lot of angry people, even calls from embassies. We learn to live with it. Let’s clarify our methodology. We are a site dedicated to local dishes and have a database of 15,000+ dishes and ingredients.’
After the tweet of the ranking was posted many netizens were befuddled by some rankings like China at 11th and Thai food at 30th despite the popularity and preference of both cuisines across the world. People also argued regarding America’s ranking because it was ahead of France which was in 9th position.
Some criticised for not including some countries and others said that some countries cuisines are not worth adding to the list.

The top 10 popular Indian drinks among the 28 are Gin and tonic, Lassi, Darjeeling(tea), South Indian Coffee, Sweet Lassi, Mango Lassi, Chai masala, Feni, Assam tea, Salted lassi
Shahi Paneer is 28th among the global top 50 best traditional dishes from India. Butter chicken was in the 53rd spot with 4.5 stings and Lucknow Korma at 55th rank in the world’s best 100 traditional dishes.
India is also bound together with the love of food, as food is an integral part of Indian culture. It means that people can go across the country to different states to try new, different food.
