Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, authorized troops to carry out a special military operation in the Donbass region of Ukraine on early Thursday.
Zelenskyy, the Ukraine president, declared martial law in the country. For days now, the Russia-Ukraine borders have seen large deployments of Russian military columns. Tensions had climbed after Putin recognized two separatist regions in Ukraine as independent and ordered the deployment of what he called peacekeepers.
Hours later after the attack, a massive explosion was heard near Kyiv’s main airport. Meanwhile, India evacuated 182 more nationals on a special flight from crisis-hit Ukraine.
The Indian embassy issued a special advisory for the Indian national in Ukraine.

The advisory says to provide alternatives for evacuation of Indian nationals. The embassy will convey information as soon as such arrangements are finalized so that Indian nationals can relocate to the western part of the country.

8 people were killed and 9 hurt in the invasion led by the Russian ground forces. The Ukraine Ministry of defense said that they shot down 5 Russian fighter planes 2 helicopters, destroyed 2 tanks & several trucks from the Ukrainian side.
The Ukrainian ambassador reported to the Indian embassy to have casualties even outside of the capital of Ukraine by the Russian ground forces. Ukraine reported killing around 50 Russian occupiers. Ukrainian foreign minister vowed to fight and defeat Russia.
The president of Ukraine urges world leaders to provide defense assistance and help protect Ukraine’s airspace from Russian group forces. Ukraine Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that anyone who is ready and able to hold a weapon could join the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces.
The Chief Minister of Kerela writes to EAM S Jaishankar to intervene and ensure the safety of 2320 students from the state in Ukraine attacked by the Russian ground forces. “At the present moment, we’re asking, pleading for support of India.
In case of aggression of totalitarian regime against the democratic state, India should fully assume its global role. Modi Ji is one of the most powerful & respected leaders in the world”: Ambassador of Ukraine to India. He further stated Ukraine government is waiting for the active support of the Indian leadership in stopping this war.
The European Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen said that they had weakened Russia’s economic base & its capacity to modernize. In addition, they will freeze Russian assets in the EU & stop the access of Russian banks to the European financial market.
World leaders describe the action as the “Barbaric Act.” UN chief appeals to Putin to take back his troops to Russia.
