In the last three months, after the new government was established, four major Industrial Projects Lost by Maharashtra State. These projects were worth Rs. 1.8 lakh crore.
Since the successful establishment of a new government in Maharashtra, with the help of the BJP and one of the Sena Faction members. There is seen to be the loss of four major industrial projects which were hoping to generate over 1 lakh direct and indirect employment in the state.
TATA Airbus C-295 Transport Aircraft Manufacturing
In the recent update, the TATA Airbus C-295 Transport Aircraft Manufacturing Plant project worth Rs. 22000 crores, is gone in Vadodara, Gujarat. Although Maharashtra is a strong contestant for the same. The Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and the State Industries Minister Uday Samant were both ambitious in bringing this Manufacturing Plant into Nagpur, Maharashtra. There was the expectation to generate 6000 direct and indirect employment through the project in the state.
Vedanta-Foxconn project
There was also a major project missed in September. The Vedanta-Foxconn project was also lost by the state and now it’s going to be established in Dholera, Gujrat. While Maharashtra was one of the aspiring states for this project. The project was worth Rs. 1.54 lakh crore and was supposed to generate around 1 lakh employment in the state.
Bulk Drug Project
The Bulk Drug Project of Rs. 3,000 crores, which Maharashtra was competing for, was lost by the state. The project is looking forward to generating 50,000 direct and indirect jobs and was supposed to be established in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.
Medical Devices Park Project
Maharashtra has sent a proposal to the central government for the Medical Devices Park Project of Rs 424 crore, in Aurangabad’s Auric City. But the Union Government denied the proposal of Maharashtra by approving other states’ proposals.
These four major projects lost by the state led to criticism of the government. The government has its biggest failure in bringing these worthy projects into the state.
