1st May 2022 Sunday, Delhi Capital opener Prithvi Shaw has been fined for breaching the code of conduct  . He will have to pay 25% of his IPL fees. He has been charged under the Level 1 offence of Article 2.2 of the I code of conduct. This charge is put upon any player for gestures towards any umpire or opposition.
Talking about the charges the team of IPL said “Mr Shaw admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction,”. They further added, “For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.”
Delhi Capitals lost against Lucknow Super Giants in the match on Sunday, when this incident took place. LSG won the match by 6 runs.
The players of DC tried their best as Rishabh Pant made 44 runs in 30 balls, Rovman Powells made 35 runs in 21 balls and Akshar Patel made 42 runs in 24 balls and yet, they fell short of 6 runs. Shaw on the other got over in the second over itself.
Delhi Capitals have played 4 matches including the one on Sunday and have won 2 out of them. In which Prithvi Shaw has made 254 runs for the team.
