On May 7th Israeli authorities demolished a Palestinian school in the occupied West Bank on Sunday. European Union is condemning the act that has taken place.
COGAT, a military branch of Israel said that about 2km away from Bethlehem there has been an illegal construction of the building. They highlighted how the construction of the building in such a way would be dangerous for the students studying there and the decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the nationals, thus Israeli court passed the verdict.
The European Union made its remark very clear on its official Twitter handle that the demolition under the Israeli verdict would affect the 60 Palestinian children and their future. The EU clearly calls out Israeli for not respecting the norms of International Law and that they have gone against it. The EU delegation has also marked out that such an act is not for the safety and security of Palestinian children but to create a tense situation in the area.
With respect to worldwide condemnation the Israeli have come forward in retaliation and have said that after continued efforts of bringing Palestinians to the table of dialogue to discuss, The COGAT said, that the owner of the building did not agree to talk about the construction of an illegal building which in turn is dangerous and threat to the safety.
Today Israel is the only Jewish state in the world, and Palestinians are part of the Arab population that extensively says to procure the state into their own name. The West Bank area is one such area that comes under the direct control of Israel which remarked its biblical history there. Most Palestinians live in that region and they demand no control of Israelis there. The statehood conflict between Israel and Palestine is been for ages in which many countries are involved.
The people there in their testimony said that students were ready to go to school and once they reached they could not find the school building as if it was all demolished. A student there also called out the Israeli Army for such a heinous act and said that if they will keep on demolishing our building we will keep on building it as education is a universal human right and must not be deprived of it. There are also people who said that the Army did not only demolish the building but confiscated it. They took away valuables from the school with them even the furniture, they had put them in the truck and taken it away, a nearby resident said.
The Palestinians are in search of time to capture the land and free it from the direct control of Israeli authorities. They want half a million population to get away from the land they have annexed. The Gush Etzion Regional Council which represents the Jewish in the West Bank area says the act of demolition is absolutely right. The council has come in favor of the Israeli Army and Law.
