Around 7:00 am on Wednesday, according to police sources, a shootout broke out between the security forces and the terrorists, who were riding in a vehicle.
On Wednesday morning, at least four terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu’s Sidhra district. At around 7:30 a.m., security forces intercepted a truck carrying terrorists. Terrorists hidden inside the truck opened fire as soon as it halted at a checkpoint.
Security jawans on the scene promptly replied to the gunfire, killing the three terrorists on the spot. During the gunfight, the truck caught fire.
How the incident took place
According to a police source, the terrorists began shooting at the search squad as soon as they flagged down the truck at a checkpoint in the morning. According to the report, all four of them were killed in retaliatory fire, though the driver escaped. He also stated that the truck, which had a forged licence plate, caught fire during the gunfight.
The cops discovered seven AK rifles, one M4 carbine, three pistols, and various slugs in the truck. According to police sources, the terrorists could have been on their way to Srinagar.
Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kohli stated that teams were searching for the evading driver and that the incident was under investigation. No information about the terrorists’ affiliation was provided by Kohli.
Four militants from the LeT offshoot, The Resistance Front, are the subject of information requests posted on posters earlier this month by the National Investigation Agency, or NIA (TRF). Two of the four are citizens of Pakistan. Each of the militants would receive a reward of Rs 10.
Sajjad Gul and Ahmad Dar are from Srinagar and Kulgam, respectively, whereas Saleem Rehmani alias “Abu Saad” from Nawab Shah, Sindh, and Saifullah Sajid Jatt from Shangamanga in Kasur are also citizens of Pakistan.
Saifullah Sajid Jatt, also known as “Langda” or “Sajid-the-Lame,” is thought to be the LeT commander in the valley. Five troops were slain at Poonch and four others were killed nearby by a terrorist squad earlier in the year.

Earlier on Monday, an over-ground terrorist worker was apprehended from the subdivision Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Poonch during a joint police-Indian Army search operation on Sunday, according to officials. From his possession, the police seized one pistol and some ammunition.
According to the police, the arrested terrorist associate, Tayab Khan, was a resident of Salwa who was asked to stop by security personnel as he was driving through a woodland area. Terrorists opened fire on a civilian in Shopian on December 25.
The incident happened in the Shopian neighbourhood of Herrera. When senior police officials heard the news, they hurried to the scene.
