Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has a net worth of around $124 billion, but he intends to donate most of his wealth to charitable causes during his lifetime.
Billionaires donating their money for a good cause has become a norm these days. And, continuing this trend, we will be seeing Jeff Bezos donating for the first time.
In an exclusive interview with CNN, Chloe Melas in Washington along with Lauren Sanchez, the vice chair of Bezos Earth Fund, vows to donate his wealth. Previously, he was criticized for not making any charitable action therefore, this is his first step towards his deed.
Problem with the economy
In order to achieve the American dream, he contends there is a lot of division in the environment, there is selfish politics in the world, and politicians criticizing other politicians and exchanging dialogue. He believes in taking part in resolving this conflict. By calling himself optimistic, he will devote the bulk of his wealth to fighting climate change and providing support for people who can unite humanity amid deep social and political divisions.
How to give away the wealth
When he is asked by the interviewer, “do you plan on giving the majority of your wealth in your lifetime?” he responds with, “yeah, I do. And, the hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way.`” He gives the reference to amazon, how it was not easy to build it and initially he will be working on making a strong platform and bringing the capacity to give away wealth.

His opinion on recession and small business
He says the economy is not in its great state. If there isn’t any layoff currently, then soon there will be. For small businesses, he advises minimizing the risk and stagnation of purchases. As his Twitter says, “batten down the hatches”.
He finally concludes by adding “hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.”

Jeff Bezos and Sanchez believed in Dolly Parton and donated $100 million as the courage and civility award to the country music star and philanthropist for a charitable cause. Dolly Parton supports child literacy through Dollywood Foundation which has given books to children around the world and she promises to make use of the money for charities for good purposes.
