Judge M. R. Shah of the Supreme Court issued 20 decisions on Monday. As a SC justice, Justice M. R. Shah took charge in 2018. His retirement date is May 15, 2024.
On Monday, Justice M. R. Shah of the Supreme Court handed down 20 decisions, more than a month after recuperating from a heart attack. On the first day the court was open following the summer break, Justice MR Shah rendered decisions.
It’s interesting that Justice Shah wrote each decision, and it’s unusual to announce 20 decisions at once.
Justice Shah said that the high court made a very big mistake when it said that the prosecution hadn’t shown the connections and evidence that could have proved the accused’s guilt.
He therefore threw aside the high court’s decision in a murder case. The supreme court’s conclusions are irrational.
In a different case, Justice M. R. Shah cleared a man of wrongdoing and said that the process of test identification is a key part of the criminal justice system.
“We believe that it would not be safe or wise to convict the accused based simply on their identification for the first time in court,” he added.
Based on these and other reasons, Justice M. R. Shah says, “we are sure that both the learned trial court and the High Court made a mistake by convicting the accused.”
In a different case, the court threw out the employee’s removal order because being fired after 20 years of working for a company is a very harsh punishment by the judge.
