All About a Film:
Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara is a perfect blend of action and mythology. It brings to life an original tale rooted in Indian culture and mythology. It explores the traditional cultures of Kambla and Bhoota Kola.
This film revolves around the rights of the local people who have lived on the land for generations and the power of struggle between native people and the government.
The story is about a village where the king gave his land to the villagers 150 years ago. In 1990, the Upright Forest Officer was trying to control tree cutting and hunting on that land, which is now a reserve forest.
Where villagers believe that this land was given to them by the demigod protector as a boon and are in no mood to listen to outsiders.
Then, Shiva (Rishab Shetty), one of the villagers, led all villagers against the government, and the king’s descendant, village shaib, also supported him.
