It is noteworthy that this will be the first time Karan will have a total of 7 films ready for release within a span of 12 months.

These 7 films will be released over the next 12 months across different platforms. While ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is slated for release on Amazon Prime, the remaining films are expected to have theatrical releases. Initially, there were rumors that ‘Sarzameen’ would have a direct-to-digital release on Hotstar, but the latest source update confirms that it will also be released theatrically.
Latest Releases to hit box office
Reuniting Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is scheduled for release on July 27, while Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam will hit the screens on August 25. However, the release date for Yodha is being reconsidered due to the film Jawan.
Originally planned for a September release, there will be a change in the date. Karan is anticipating potential date reshuffling by other movies, and based on that, he will make decisions regarding the release of the remaining films in his lineup. Two films, Sankaran and Sarzameen, are planned for release in 2024.
Other films in the development stage
In addition to the aforementioned 7 films, Dharma Productions has several other projects in the works. One of them is an intense romantic film starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri, which is a remake of the Tamil film ‘Pariyerum Perumal’. Shashank Khaitan is also involved in the development of multiple subjects, including a potential next installment of the ‘Dulhania’ film, although it is uncertain which project he will ultimately choose to pursue.
Karan Johar himself is working on an action film that will enter a comprehensive development stage after the release of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. There is hope for Vishnu Vardhan to collaborate with Salman Khan on his upcoming project with Dharma.
Moreover, Dharma Productions has signed a two-film deal with Sandeep Modi, the director of ‘The Night Manager’. Vasan Bala and Neeraj Ghaywan are also preparing to commence the production of their respective films for the Dharma banner later this year.
