The group made their return after two years of hiatus with fifth mini-album, ‘Re:’ and ‘Ring the Alarm’ music video on 22nd June 2022.
KARD officially made their long awaited comeback with mini-album ‘Re:’ and its title track ‘Ring the Alarm’ on 22nd June. The co-ed group consists of four members, BM, JSeph, Somin and Jiwoo.
The album consists of 4 songs and 2 instrumentals. They are, Break Down, Ring the Alarm, Good Love, Whip! And instrumentals of Break Down and Ring the Alarm. ‘Break Down’ is written by all of the members.
KARD discussed the song at their showcase prior to its release, introducing ‘Ring The Alarm’ as a dance song with a refreshing vibe reminiscent of their music around the time of their debut.
‘Ring The Alarm’ is a pleasant Moombahton genre song that KARD can perform confidently. With a rhythmic bass sound and a synthesizer and guitar sound with a summer atmosphere, the message “Let’s enjoy this new time” is easily expressed.
The lyrics are about following your instincts and the rhythm.
The music video has almost reached 3 million views since its release. All of KARD songs in the ‘Re:’ album debuted in Bugs chart. With ‘Ring the Alarm’ in the top 20.
In the music video, the members are wearing black and white outfits with few shades of red here and there. At the beginning, they are seen in four different locations.
BM was in a gas station, JSeph in a white room, Somin in a room of aquariums and Jiwoo was in a restaurant.
Though, their locations keep changing. BM is sometimes seen climbing a rocky mountain. JSeph on a dark, dimly lit roof. Somin in a dark room with red curtains and sitting on a red heart platform. Jiwoo in a room of diamonds.
The scene again changes to them falling in their respective locations. Then suddenly cards start circling around Jiwoo. JSeph comes across a painting.
The members are shown as cards. BM as King, Somin and Jiwoo as Joker and JSeph as Ace. At the end, JSeph closes the door to his place and the screen changes to KARD standing in front of a painting of two people kissing.
In July, KARD will focus on a South American tour. They will visit Santiago, Chile, Mexico City, Curitiba, and Brazil, among other places.
