In response to the CM KCR, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao convened a high-level review meeting on the distribution of 2 BHK houses in Hyderabad.
In the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s limits, more than 75,000 of the 100,000 double-bedroom residences are complete and will be distributed over time.

They announced that distribution would begin soon and that the process of candidate verification was nearly complete. The construction of the final 25,000 dwellings is still progressing quickly.
The verification of candidates who have already submitted their applications is almost finished, according to the officials, even if the process of applications being filed by eligible individuals is still underway.
CM KCR addresses on Independence Day
CM KCR said that the distribution of about 100,000 two-bedroom dwellings in the Greater Hyderabad limits that have been fully constructed will begin on August 15. The state government started building these homes to give disadvantaged people a place to live in dignity because the one-room apartments given out by the previous administration were too small to accommodate a family.
The Chief Minister remarked, in reference to the welfare programmes established for weavers, that the government has decided to introduce a new programme for switching conventional looms out for framed ones. The government had already covered weavers under the Rs 5lakh insurance programme by paying costs on their behalf.
The CM went into detail about the measures taken to ensure the full and inclusive development of all areas. In order to ensure that the benefits of welfare reached all parts, the government simultaneously built the required infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.
KT Rama Rao’s take on the verification process of 2 BHK houses
Rama Rao requested that officials finish the verification procedure and make plans for the distribution of the 2 BHK homes to begin the next week. He predicted that the dwellings would be distributed in five to six stages. He also pushed them to complete the final few homes in order to achieve the deadline of 1 lakh units.
The Minister declared that there was no political interference in the choice of qualified applicants for properties with two bedrooms. He emphasised the extensive field testing that the authorities carried out to ensure the selection procedure was fair and transparent.
The Minister proposed organising a distribution campaign in which houses would be handed out in front of all beneficiaries at their designated residences in order to increase transparency and community involvement. The cost of the double-bedroom homes being built by the state government was Rs 5.04 lakh in rural areas and Rs 7 lakh in urban areas.
The Minister also talked about identifying beneficiaries and spending up the procedure for the Gruha Laxmi scheme’s prompt implementation in Hyderabad. 3,000 households in each assembly seat would receive a one-time payment from the state government under the programme of Rs 3 to each woman’s beneficiary to build their homes.
