KGF: Chapter 2 becomes the fourth Indian film to gross more than Rs. 1000 crore. The first Indian movie to cross the Rs. 1000 crore gross is Dangal, by Nitesh Tiwari, starring Aamir Khan as the protagonist. The second movie to cross the gross collection is Bahubali by S.S. Rajamouli, starring Prabhas, and the third is RRR, starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr. The movie surpassed the collection within 17 days of its release.
The blockbuster movie
The KGF: Chapter 2 was released on April 14th, 2022. On the very first day, it collected almost Rs. 135 crores. To be precise, the total revenue for the first day was Rs. 134.50 crores. The film trade analyst, Ramesh Bala tweeted, “#KGFChapter2 has crossed 1000 Crs Gross Mark at the WW Box Office.. Only the fourth Indian movie to do so after #Dangal, #Baahubali2 and #RRRMovie”. Additionally, the movie grossed Rs.676 Crs in just six days of release.
Kannada fans are delighted by the movie’s success.
According to IMDb ratings, the 2nd chapter of the movie KGF got a 9 out of 10, which shows the movie is a blockbuster hit. One among the audience said, “A decade ago, the Kannada film industry was striving hard to make quality films to join the race with other South Indian films..” They praised the director Prasanth Neele, “Prasanth Neele will surely join the list of top directors in India.”
Furthermore, 87.5 percent of the audience gave it a ten-star rating. The record set by the movies RRR, Jai Bhim and Anbe Sivam was overtaken by the KGF: Chapter 2 movie.
The blockbuster hit movie was distributed by four different companies. Prithviraj Productions (in Malayalam), Excel Entertainment (in Hindi), Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram (in Telugu), and AA Films (Hindi-dubbed South Indian movies).
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie gained 94% of the audience’s score and the rotten tomato percentage was 54 percent. One of the critical comments said, “The trouble with films busy working on their look is that they forget about plotting. KGF 2 swings haphazardly between the past and the present.”
Though the blockbuster is still running successfully in theaters, some critics had a different take on the plot of the film.
