Khloe Kardashian welcomed her first ever son with Tristan Thompson on July 28, last year. The baby was born via surrogacy but his name was kept a secret until now. The reality star’s name has finally been revealed by US Sun. The couple has named their son ‘Tatum Robert‘.
A source has shared to the news agency that there have been a confusion among the family as they were stuck in a debate on whether the name should be Tatum Robert or Robert Tatum. The insider added that a few members of the Kardashian family were stuck to Robert because it honours her father and her brother [Rob Kardashian]. Khloe’s father Robert passed away in 2003 of cancer.
Momager Kris Jenner was “keen” over the couple choosing the name, but it took her 38-year-old daughter some time to “settle on [it].” Further, the source explained that Khloe had certain reservations towards her son’s name, as she wanted his name to begin with ‘T’ and also wanted the name to be “kind of unusual but not too out there.” It was confirmed by the reality star herself on an episode of the ‘Kardashians’ in September 2022, that the name of her son will begin with a ‘T’.
Khloe have been in one of the most rocky relationship ever, compared to her sisters, with Tristan. The on-again off-again couple also have a 5-year-old daughter together, True. She was born in April 2018 and her name was chosen with family ties.
Earlier, while sharing about how she came up with her name, the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ alum shared that she always wanted her baby to have ‘T’ as initial. “So one night while we were all at dinner, thinking of some names, my grandma MJ suggested True,” revealed a blog in her app in May 2018. She added that the name was “stuck” with her, as it was not only her great-grandfather’s first name but also her grandfather’s middle name.
She and Tristan broke up the following year after the latter’s cheating scandal came to light. The NBA player was caught making out to Jordyn Woods, then-bff of Kylie Jenner. Post the scandal, the Kar-Jenner clan broke off ties with the model. However, the couple later got back together during the coronavirus pandemic and amid their on-and-off relationship, they planned their baby no. 2.
In an episode of their family reality show, the founder of Good American stated that she might get some embryos to get a sibling for her daughter, True. She then turned to Tristan and said, “I might need to borrow some sperm or get some from you.” The athlete replied that he was so “on board.” Two months later, Khloe told Andy Cohen that their surrogate had fallen through.
The couple conceived their son in November 2021 via surrogate – only for Tristan’s paternity suit with Maralee Nichols to make headlines the next month. At first, the Chicago Bulls player denied, but later admitted of fathering the child in his Instagram Story.
As they awaited their son’s arrival, Khloe did not get back together with Tristan. The source reveals that by the time the scandal came out, their baby was already in work, so Khloe was like, ‘I’m going to be doing it myself’.
