Due to heavy rainfall in Lucknow, a wall collapsed and killed 9 people including three children.
Today in Lucknow around early morning a horrific accident took place in which 9 people and three children were killed under an under-construction wall that collapsed due to heavy rainfall last night. This incident took place in the Dilkhusa area in Lucknow Cantt.
The people who got injured in this accident have been taken to the Civil Hospital where they are being treated. The injured persons who are being treated in the hospital were given a visit by the District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar and he said to all the victims of the accident that all the injured or the family who lost their loved ones will be given 4 lakhs by the State Government.
Units of SDRF are still operating in the rescue operation to find bodies from the debris of the accident.
Getting the news of the accident DC Roshan Jacobs inspected the nearby areas including Engineering College, Jankipuram, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, and the Riverfront Colony. She even directed the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to make immediate and necessary arrangements to clear out the flooded streets in Lucknow.
According to sources the Joint Commissioner of Police, Law, and Order, said that “We have so far learned that all the deceased were from Jhansi District and had made their shack near the construction site”. He also stated that the identities of the dead ones are yet to be found and the whole area has been blocked for all civilians.
Lucknow DM also visited the spot to get the information and also CM Yogi Aditya Nath is expected to visit the Hospital.
Heavy rain has been witnessed in Lucknow and nearby areas since yesterday and due to this several areas have been heavily waterlogged which the District Authority has declared for all schools even the Lucknow District Administration has ordered the people who are staying in the nearby places to vacate and move to safer places.
