A 16-year-old boy slit the throat of his 13-year-old friend on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway to get jailed and skip studies.

A 16-year-old boy had been plotting the murder of his 13-year-old friend for the past five months.
He slit his friend’s throat with a piece of glass that he found on the road.
On a Monday evening, he took his little friend down to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, saying that they would watch the cars cruise.
He then picked up a piece of glass that he found lying on the road and slit his throat. He threw his body in the bushes off the expressway and ran away.
On the same day, the police received a call that informed them that a body had been found on the DME. The police rushed to the spot and informed the boy’s parents.
The 13-year-old was a resident of Masuri. He was a grade 7 student, who studied in a private school. His father works as a laborer in a factory.
The two boys studied in different schools but lived in the same locality.
The parents of the victim informed the SP that the boy had to come to pick their son up at 3 p.m. With the help of this information, the police began searching for the boy.
They went to his house, but he was not there. His parents, too, had no idea about his whereabouts.
At 7 p.m., the boy was found outside the Masuri Police Station, near a tea shop. He wanted to surrender; in case the police didn’t try searching for him.
After much interrogation, the boy narrated what he had done. Je revealed that his parents forced him to study. He did not want to continue with his education.
He also revealed how he had taken inspiration from the movies he watched, and accordingly, plotted his friend’s murder.
A complaint has been registered against the boy under IPC section 302 (murder) and relevant provisions of the SC/ST act.
