Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, has invested in Rage Coffee, a company that makes packaged coffee products, according to the company’s announcement on Wednesday (March 23). The city-based firm, on the other hand, did not reveal the amount of Kohli’s investment or his role as a brand ambassador.
The company wants to extend its online and offline reach across the country with the new funds, which will be used for marketing and distribution.The funds will also be used to increase production, create innovative new products, and hire top management expertise, according to a statement from Rage Coffee.
The Company had previously raised USD 5 million in growth capital in a series A fundraising deal headed by Sixth Sense in August 2021.
“Apart from being a world-class athlete, Virat is also a fitness enthusiast, who is committed to an attitude that fosters a healthy lifestyle and it seamlessly aligns with the ethos that Rage Coffee promotes. We are thrilled to have him onboard,” Rage Coffee Founder and CEO Bharat Sethi said.
Kohli said, “The team has shown high levels of business execution and stupendous growth over the last couple of years…I see tremendous potential for the brand to become one of the most iconic coffee companies of our time.”
