A 30-year-old BPO executive was reportedly gang-raped during an office party in a city guest house last week where there were 3 senior colleagues of hers – two men and a woman.
Reportedly they spiked her drink and the two men took turns raping her multiple times and gang raped her.
The survivor left the guest house after the party got over last Saturday. And after four days at home, she assembled all the courage for lodging a complaint against them.
The police arrested all three of them and charged them with gang rape after the FIR was lodged.
The officer of the Bidhannagar City Police stated that they have arrested the three colleagues of her namely Bhaskar Banerjee, Chiranjib Sutradhar, and Indrani Das based on the woman’s complaint.
And they are also looking for other evidence of the BPO job that they were doing. Whether the job is completely legal or not. A medico-legal test was checked to confirm her claims after which the accused were picked up.
Charges have been pressed against Bhaskar Banerjee, Chiranjit Sutradhar, and Indrani Das, all co-workers of the victim. According to reports, they purportedly spiked her drinks before raping the woman multiple times. The victim is a 30-year-old BPO executive with an IT firm.
The office party took place in a guesthouse located in Kolkata’s Chinar Park, where the company booked the entire sixth floor.
After the party ended on Saturday, the survivor went home and mustered the courage to file a complaint after four days.” Based on the woman’s complaint, we have arrested three of her colleagues…and charged them with gang-rape,” stated a Bidhannagar City Police officer.
The officer also added that the police were investigating the nature of the BPO’s work and whether it was entirely legal.
