Lawrence Bishnoi, the accused in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder, in a two-day remand over an extortion case.
Lawrence Bishnoi is under the custody of Faridkot police for two days. The gangster was remanded after a case of extortion of rupees 50 Lakhs from a garment trader from Kotkapura. Reportedly, Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster who is involved in the Sidhu Moose Wala’s killing, demanded Sumit Kumar make a payment of 50 Lakh rupees.
According to Faridkot Police, Sumit Kumar owns a garment shop in Kotkapura. He received a call from the gangster, Goldy Brar, on 18 July 2022 demanding to pay up to ₹50 Lakhs as extortion money. Goldy threatened to kill Sumit and his family if they failed to do the payment. He claimed that he is a flunkey of Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi. On 22 July, the Faridkot court issued an arrest warrant against Lawrence Bishnoi in the extortion case.
Rajpal Singh, the Senior Superintendent of Police of Faridkot, reported that Bishnoi was arrested in the extortion case. The court granted Bishnoi a two-day remand. “We will interrogate him for further investigation,” said Rajpal Singh.
Goldy Brar is an aide of Lawrence Bishnoi. As per the reports, he is the mastermind behind killing Sidhu Moose Wala and he instructed the shooters to carry out the crime.
