Ric Flair, often known as “The Nature Boy,” is getting ready to lace up his boots and put on his magnificent robe for the very final time. According to Sources, one of the best wrestlers in the history of the sport will compete in his last battle on July 31.
The independent wrestling event that will be streamed on FITE TV will take place at the Nashville Fairgrounds, and the 73-year-old icon will be competing there. Sting was Flair’s opponent in his most recent bout, which took place in September 2011 for Impact Wrestling. In 2008, he faced Shawn Michaels in his last bout for the professional wrestling organization known as WWE.
“I’m going to walk that aisle one last time to show once and for all that to be the Man, you’ve got to defeat the Man,” Flair said in a statement to ESPN.
Recently, Flair has published videos on his YouTube channel showing him training with Jay Lethal, who is now the top star in All Elite Wrestling. After experiencing problems after intestinal surgery in the summer of 2017, Flair was diagnosed with renal failure and required dialysis.
Flair is mostly recognized for his catchphrase “Woo!” and his signature stride. Recently, he has been sharing videos on social media of him working out with Current AEW Wrestler, Jay Lethal. In 2021, the iconic wrestler put in a request to be released from his contract with WWE and was granted his request. The work that Flair did for the NWA and WCW, which was WWE’s primary competitor in the 1980s and 1990s, brought him the majority of his fame. But in addition to that, he worked for the WWE for a significant portion of the last twenty years, both as a wrestler and an on-screen manager.
In August of 2017, Flair made an appearance in Mexico City for the AAA organisation. During this time, he cornered Andrade El Idolo, who is engaged to his daughter Charlotte, for a main event match against Kenny Omega. During the course of the bout, Flair displayed his trademark maneuver, which consisted of entering the ring and Giving Chops to Omega in the chest.
Even though Flair was at the height of his career thirty years ago, he still maintains an enormous fan base, which is helped along by the hip-hop scene. Ric Flair was featured in a music video with Bad Bunny, who is currently the most played artist on Spotify, in the year before to Offset’s release of the massively successful rap song “Ric Flair Drip,” which was released in 2018. The song was written by Offset.
On July 31, Flair will be performing on a card that will start at 6:05 p.m., paying homage to the weekend start times used by Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW from the 1970s to the 1990s. Tickets and a pay-per-view stream will be available for purchase beginning at noon on May 27.
The summer of 2017 was a difficult time for Flair’s health, and he ultimately had intestinal surgery, which ultimately led to renal failure and the need for dialysis therapy. He was admitted to the hospital for more than a month, but his health has been excellent ever since the incident.
