Hitesh Dev Sharma, the current NRC co-ordinator, who has been busy questioning the NRC from the outset and thwarting the process, instead of speeding up the NRC process overseen by the Supreme Court, sent a letter to Supreme Court Chief Justice NV Ramana alleging this. They claimed that the final list of NRC was accepted by all quarters. The NRC office was supposed to send a letter of rejection stating the reasons for the omission of the names of more than 19 lakh people from the list. More than two hundred foreign tribunals were also set up to hear the petitions filed on its basis. But no work has been done since Hitesh Dev Sharma took charge. Rather he is busy creating controversy. He himself is raising questions about the validity of the list. Claiming that millions of foreigners have entered the list.
Hitesh recently lodged an FIR with the CID alleging anti-national activities against former co-ordinator Pratik Hazela. Strongly condemning this, Mancha alleges that a partisan party-organization in the state is supporting Hitesh, as a result of which the legitimate Indians who have proved their citizenship by enduring many hardships are terrified.
Hitesh Dev Sharma is too busy to cancel the final list of the NRC without completing the work of the NRC, demanding a joint platform of the four left parties in the state. The current co-ordinator is working to satisfy the political interests of the BJP. The treasury money has been wasted to run the NRC office for three years. According to the CPM, the BJP is sorting out the work of one person who has been abusing the NRC process on social media. But with the NRC process stalled, Aadhaar cards and other government facilities for 26 lakh people have been shut down.
