Atmakur police detained a guy and his fiancée on Tuesday for allegedly trying to kill his girlfriend’s lover. Shaik Abdul Rehman, 27, of Kavali’s Vengalrao Nagar, Andhra Pradesh, and Shaik Asifa, a Kavali native and Atmakur Government Hospital staff nurse, were identified as the suspects by Atmakur circle inspector Venugopal Reddy (AGH).
The Injures that Shaik Nazir received were severe, and he is currently receiving treatment at the AGH, Andhra Pradesh. Nazir, an AGH computer operator, was head over heels in love with Asifa, an AGH staff nurse. Their parents rejected their marriage proposal.Later Asifa tied the knot with a Kavali native in 2021. However, they broke up after just three months.
After the separation, Asifa and Nazir rekindled their friendship. Nazir made a new marriage proposal to her. Yet again, Asifa’s parents said no to the engagement ring, instead of arranging for their daughter to marry Shaik Abdul Rehman of Kavali, a former acquaintance.Asifa requested Nazir to remove their messages and images from his phone to avoid future issues, but he insisted on marrying her anyhow.
Rehman and Asifa came up with a strategy to get rid of Nazir after learning about his views on the matter. And so, Asifa called on Sunday and asked Nazir to an isolated area along Vinjamuru Road. At this point, she persuaded him to erase all of their chats.
Images, and other data from his phone, and she did the same for herself. Asifa then departed, giving Nazir the advice to delay his departure until later.Abdul Rehman, meanwhile, had been waiting in a Maruti Swift Desire on Vinjamuru road to kill Nazir. Rehman slammed his car into the Scooty near Nellorepalem hamlet after noticing nazirriding his scooter.
Nazir was critically injured when he slipped under a parked tempo on the roadside.Venugopal Reddy, a CI, alleged that if Nazir had fallen on the road, Rehman could have killed him.The matter was probed by Atmakur sub-inspector M. Sivasankar Rao and S. Sai Prasad. A report from Nazir led to the arrests of Rehman and Asifa on Tuesday.SP Ch. Vijaya Rao praised Venugopal Reddy and his team’s quick resolution of the matter.
