LSG Looks To Bounce Back Right-hander Scored His First ODI Century When He Scored 175 Runs

n the context of LSG IPL is heading to a stage where every game will become crucial for teams, especially in the bottom half of the table. Many teams will look to avoid such situations and one of them is SRH. A team who has been relinquishing in the bottom half of the table since the last three seasons and has seen a change in captaincy this season as the leadership duties are now in the hands of newly appointed South African Skipper Aiden Markram who has been prolific from leading into the tournament which is evident by the fact that the right-hander scored his first ODI century when he scored 175 runs

Against the Netherlands in a must-win encounter when his team was in a bit of trouble as they had lost quick wickets and were in desperate need of a partnership. That is when Markram decided to take matters into his own hands and played a counter-attacking inning to take his team past 350 runs and help them win the match and get crucial world cup super league points.

SRH is in a similar position to?

If we look closely SRH is also in a similar position as the team lost its first match against RR by a big margin of 72 runs in the absence of their regular captain who was fulfilling his national commitments. The previous match was like a nightmare for SRH as nothing clicked for the orange army their bowlers conceded an above-par total on a batting-friendly wicket and the batters did not respond either as the team could not even reach 150 runs and only managed to score 131-8 that too after a late assault from Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.

The duo saved the team from humiliation as they ensured that the team batted the entire 20 overs chances of which were looking very weak when the eighth wicket fell with the score less than 100.

SRH should look at the previous match as a one-off and look to bounce back against LSG. Talking about the chances it will be very early to make changes based on just one match as every team is allowed to have one such bad night every season. But if the same performance is repeated then the management will have a lot to think about because the team hasn’t performed well in the last three seasons.

The positive thing for SRH- has South African players.

A positive thing for SRH is that there are star South African players, three of them are available for selection and it will provide a lot of strength to the team. Especially the addition of Markram and Klaasen in the batting lineup will provide a lot of strength to the batting department which looked clueless in the first match. The addition of Marco Jenson in the bowling up provided a new dimension to the team’s bowling attack which looked Unidimensional in the first match. With Marco’s addition to the lineup, he is a tall bowler and can get extra bounce and with Ekana being a big ground he can be more than handy in the match against LSG.

For LSG, it is an opportunity to get their campaign back on track after a close defeat against CSK a match they might have Won. LSG should not ponder much on the last match and should go with an unchanged team against SRH.
