MADURAI: Jaihindpuram police in the city caught a tailor who had been missing for more than two weeks and was accused of killing his daughter. Kalimuthu and Priyadarshini, the two people on trial, lived in Solaialagupuram. Kalimuthu worked at a local tailor shop, and Priyadharshini worked at an East Gate shop that sold kitchen tools. Thanshika, their daughter, was eight years old.
On September 3, Thanshika was taken away from the house by Kalimuthu. When Priyadarshini asked him about the child, he said that the girl was at his sister’s house. On September 23, Kalimuthu’s neighbours told Jaihindpuram police that his house smelled bad. The girl had been killed, and her body was found in a big bucket in the loft.
Soon after, Kalimuthu ran away. The investigation showed that the man thought his wife was cheating on him and that they had been fighting a lot. On Wednesday, the police took him into custody in Palanganatham. He told the police that he would tell the child about how often he and her mother would fight. The girl told him that both of them can kill themselves. So, he choked her to death and put her body in a bucket. Then he went to the train track, but he changed his mind about killing himself.
