A gigantic landslide hit in Manipur. It was in the district of Noney. The incident happened on Wednesday night. Many people were hurt and buried and many people died. The sources say that a total of 14 people are dead and 60 are still under the debris. Search and rescue operations are underway. The workers who are trying to rescue are having a hard time searching and rescuing due to the rain and other natural factors.
The incident was on Wednesday and Thursday. It was near the company location of 107 territory of the Indian army near Tupul Railway Station to protect the constructed railway line from Jiribam to Imphal.Â
The search operations are by Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, National Disaster, Response Force and SDRF.Â
It further said travelers to avoid National Highway-37 as there are road blocks in Manipur now.Â

According to the recent report they took out two more bodies in the debris of the railway construction site. The DGP P Doungel said that as many as 23 people were in the debris. 14 of them are not alive. He further said as many as 60 people are under the debris that is yet to confirm.
The villagers, army, railway personnel and laborers are mostly inside. The search operations are continuing during the night too.Â
Engineering equipment including the bulldozers brought to fasten the service and rescue as much as I want. Thursday, they took out eight bodies includes seven of territorial army personnel.
Then today during the morning search they found two bodies of territorial army personnel. So far, 13 army personnel and 5 civilians are safe.
The treatment of victims are at the Assam Rifles Hospital at Mantripukhri, Manipur. The Eastern Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lt Gen RP Kalita went to see the hurt Territorial Army Personnel who was took into Liemakong Military Hospital.Â
The Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh has announce an amount of Rs 5 lakh to each next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured. Governor La Ganesan paid his condolences for the dead and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.Â
The debris of the landslide is blocking the river Ijej river and create a reservoir that can swamp low lying places around it.
The advisory by the deputy commissioner says that the situation of people in Manipur is still developing and the future is not known, the people are given advise to take their own precaution, especially to make sure children do not come near rivers. the government also says that if anyone can evacuate then evacuate.Â
