The legal comedy features Tatiana Gabriele Maslany as She-Hulk. Mark Ruffalo will also be reprising his role as Smart Hulk
Marvel Studios released the trailer of She-Hulk on Tuesday starring Tatiana Gabriele Maslany in the role of the superhero. The 1:47-minute-long trailer depicts the journey of Jennifer Walters, a high-profile attorney who deals with cases involving superhuman activities.
The Trailer
The trailer kicked off with Bruce Banner’s voice, “Being a superhero is a trial by fire”. We are introduced to Maslany’s character Jennifer Walters, a lawyer in charge of the superhuman law division. She will eventually transform into the “green-hued version” of herself after getting a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner.
Mark Ruffalo, Smart Hulk assists She-Hulk in her transformation and helps her control the rage-monster hulk that resides within her.
Another interesting aspect of the trailer is that we see glimpses of Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky in both his human and transformed state- Abomination.
Actress Jameela Jamil will portray the role of Titania and can be seen in a courtroom scene with She-Hulk for a brief moment.
Bonus
Frog-Man appears for fraction of a second, it is easy to miss him in the trailer. The MCU version of Frog-Man looks more like a goofy sentai hero than a teenager in a heavy costume. It will be interesting to see what they have in the pipeline for this character.
Reaction
The trailer received mixed reactions from netizens. Avid Marvel fans expressed their delight over the inclusion of more female superheroes in MCU, in recent times. However, the quality of the ‘unfinished CGI’ sparked debate on social media.
Beyond doubt, in most of Maslany’s She-Hulk scenes, we see bits of CGI that are not quite up to par, as opposed to Ruffalo’s ‘suitably polished’ Smart Hulk.
