Melanie Brown, well known by her stage as Mel B, has been awarded an MBE for services to charity organisations and women in need.
When Mel B was awarded the MBE on Wednesday, she had a special homage prepared for the occasion (May 4). The Spice Girl, whose real name is Melanie Brown, was fete at Buckingham Palace for her benefactions to humanitarian organisations and the commission of women in delicate situations.
Following her own experience with domestic abuse, Brown started associated with the organisation Women’s Aid in 2018, and has been an advocate for victims of domestic abuse ever ago. In her acceptance speech, the 46- time-old pop artist expressed her gratefulness to “all the other women “who are victims of domestic violence.
As she continued, she expressed her sense of being a” voice “for all abused women, saying “I do not view it as a particular prize; rather, I see it as a collaborative award because we’ve survived.” Scary Spice was given the prize by the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, who was in attendance.
According to the BBC, Brown told the Press Association news agency that she
” no way pictured (she’d) be then entering this MBE for the work (she’s) done.”
“It’s awful to have, but it’s not just for me-it’s for all of the other ladies, “she concluded, expressing gratefulness. “Because of Covid, there is been such an epidemic of domestic abuse, and you know I have got an army of women behind me who need help and who need to be heard.”
When presenting Brown with her prize, the Duke of Cambridge praised her for her achievements but also expressing remorse that she had gone through what she described. Her abusers converted her” awful actuality “into commodity” horrendous “for ten times, and she turned it into” commodity good.”
I have had an enough amazing life so far, “she remarked of her parenting. Melanie Brown MBE has been added to the end of her Twitter handle, which now reads “Melanie Brown MBE”next to the vindicated checkmark.
Victoria Beckham, a former Spice Girl, was also in attendance, dressed her confidante for the occasion in her hand style. “A great night honouring@officialmelb!” Posh Spice said in the caption of a nice shot of the girl musketeers she participated on her Instagram story.
