The theme of the 2021 MET Gala was “American Independence”. The theme was efficiently depicted by the event guest, which further made the fashion night out as a fashion extravaganza. The dresses of the celebrities have stood out the theme by reflecting women’s rights, taxation pitch, an all-black ensemble which had developed several moments of political stances among the guest.

The MET Gala 2021 also depicted the essence of queer pride to show appropriate support towards the LGBTQIA+ community.
The theme was well interpreted with the LGBTQ aspect by the soccer star Megan Rapinoe and actor Dan Levy. The soccer star, Megan Rapinoe, wore a Sergio Hudson pantsuit in bright red silk and a bright blue shirt with swithte stars on it.
She had also carried a blue clutch on which the words ‘In Gay We Trust’ were printed, which had to succeed in standing out her support towards the LGBTQIA+ community.Â
Moreover, the actor, Dan Levy wore a JW Anderson and Loewe look at the event, and the dress has its root among those works of the LGBTQIA+ activist David Wojnarovicz which reflects the actor’s supports towards the members of the LGBTQIA+ community by wearing their sexuality essence on his sleeves at the event.Â
