Mikhail Gorbachev, a former leader of Soviet Union, dies today at the age of 92. The former president was the last surviving Cold War Veteran and was the one who played a major role in pulling the nation out of the said War.Â
Mikhail Gorbachev, reputed and most famous of leaders, was in power between 1985 and 1991. During the years, he played a major role in ending the Cold War between Russia and US.
The leader died in Moscow aged 91. Russian news agencies announced his death on Tuesday claiming Gorbachev had died of a serious and long illness at a central hospital in Moscow. The leader was increasingly reported having a fragile health during the last year’s and was also home quarantined for the entire pandemic.
Even thouugh the relation between Mikhail and Putin were questionable, the latter expressed deep sympathies for the late leader.
“In the morning leader Putin, will send a telegram of condolences to his family and friends,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed the Russian news agencies.

He also won the Nobel Peace Prize of 1990.Â
