The Telangana MP & State President, Bandi Sanjay, was arrested late at night on Wednesday from his residence, Karimnagar. This was right before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state of Telangana, scheduled to happen on April 5, 2024.
Bandi’s involvement in the school paper leak case
BJP stated that Bandi Sanjay Kumar has been taken into custody, being involved in the secondary school paper leak of class 10. On the first day of the commencement of the examination was followed by a class 10 Telugu question paper leak, which didn’t end well with the Hyderabad police. They set up a special investigation to dig deep into the matter of recruitment tests that were conducted by Telangana’s state public service commission.
Detaining the BJP Chief has created a tense atmosphere with Bandi Sanjay’s party people & supporters actively trying to stop the police from detaining him. However, the BJP Chief could be seen being dragged out by policemen & made to sit inside the police van, sources claim. Bandi’s ‘illegal’ detainment
Giving his views on Bandi Sanjay’s detainment, the BJP State General Secretary acknowledged the BJP Chief having been detained past midnight and how he had been held from his residence in Karimnagar on illegal grounds. He further stated that the police should’ve initiated the legal processes the next day, instead of the late hours of the night.
On being arrested, Bandi shared his concerns with sources. Bandi said that before being arrested late at night, he was also stopped from conducting a press meet. Even after being arrested by the Telangana police, Bandi insists on questioning the BRS government, in terms of their wrongdoings.
BJP Chief’s detention in Hyderabad questioned by MP Reddy, alleging it as a hindrance to PM Modi’s program. Reddy raised concerns over the odd-hour detention of the Member of Parliament and questioned the motives behind it – whether it was due to a crime or a case. Reddy demanded to know the details of the BJP Chief’s detention, as sources claim, and why he was taken into custody.
BJP’s state-wise protest, post Bandi Sanjay detainment
Furthermore, the BJP has announced a state-wide protest in response to Bandi Sanjay’s detention. The party has accused the KCR government of using authoritarian tactics to suppress opposition voices. Meanwhile, supporters of Bandi Sanjay have gathered in large numbers outside the police station where he is being held, demanding his immediate release. The situation remains tense as the BJP leaders and workers are planning to hold massive protests across the state.
However, this hasn’t gone down well with the Telangana BJP leaders. With the untimely arrest of Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana said a state-wise protest would be launched.
