In Tamil Nadu, Madurai, two people aged 23 and 3 yr old, sharing the relationship of mother and son die after consuming poison fearing the danger and threat from the ongoing issue of Covid repeated again this year. Â
Not only did the two of them consumed poison, but others were also involved in the whole act including the deceased mother’s brothers involving a total count of 5 people, out of which 3 survived and the other 2 were found dead by the police. Â
As per the sources, it is generally investigated that the mother named Jyotika was separated from her husband according to her family history background and she reportedly tested positive for Covid 19, so fearing the threat of spreading the virus to rest of her family members she along with her family members had poison to get rid of the situation which could further make their life troublesome to bear up with. After being alerted about the situation that took place at Jyotika’s house, her neighbours called the police and they took the remaining three members who were unconscious to a government hospital for getting them treated, and the remaining two which included the mother and the son were found dead till the time the police could turn up.Â
This case would still be under investigation, and the police officials also suspect that fearing the onset situation of Covid 19 and its consequences, the family members must have planned out such an act of consuming poison.Â
Looking at the incident that striked a fear in the minds of the residents living near their locality, the health officials have urged each one of them not to panic and seek medical help if required and not to try out this harsh act of consuming poison. Â
