Munawar Faruqui to feature in Kangana’s show ‘Lock up’.

Munawar Farooqi was in the news for most of 2021 as he was arrested for allegedly making fun and hurting sentiments of People’s beliefs.

While many people supported his arrest, some people helped the Comedian’s Freedom of expression to be protected by the constitution. 

Last year, he was arrested allegedly for mocking religious belief during his Stand-up show. He was released on bail, after which he faced severe criticisms. 

The Comedian had a rift to Bollywood Actor Kangana’s ideologies and was often vocal against her. Munawar is now featuring in Kangna’s show Lock-up, which would premier on Mx player and Alt Balaji from February 27. 

He had mocked the actress for being too outspoken about Nepotism; he had said in a tweet how Kangana talks about Nepotism but hires her sister as a manager. 

As the Comedian announced his participation in her show, people started trolling him and his place in the show. The Comedian said not to Judge him early and wait for the show. 

In an interview with the Indian Express, Munawar said,

“If someone believes in ideologies, they would also believe that we live in a democratic country. We all have the Freedom of speech and to put across our beliefs.

If one expects to be heard and their opinions respected, they would have to do the same; it’s a give takes situation,”

he added 

Commenting on his participation with ‘Lock Up,’ Munawar said that Lock-Up would change the dynamics of the Indian OTT Industry. He also said that things were pretty tough for him, and now he would have a chance to be himself in an actual setup.

Talking about the contestants, the show has revealed Nisha Rawal as her first contestant and Munawar as its second. The show Lock-up is an OTT-based reality show similar to Big Boss, where the contestants would be jailed in the front wearing handcuffs.  

The show is the first multiverse fantasy game with 16 controversial celebrities in Lockup for a month. This show will be the most dramatic, and contestants will be given challenging tasks to be in the Lockup.

The contestant will be left in the lurch with no amenities at all, and, to sustain in the game, they have to reveal all the dark secrets of their life to the world. 

ALTBalaji and MX Player will live stream this show 24×7 on their respective platforms and have the audiences interact directly with the contestants, a note from the makers read. 

It is produced by Endemol Shine India, the show premiers on ALTBalaji & MX Player, on February 27. 

Actress Kangana Ranaut would mark her debut in the OTT Industry through the show. Her last release Thalaivi was based on Late Jayalalitha Jayaram. Kangana’s film Dhakad is slated to release this year; fans are excited about her upcoming project.

She would also be featuring in an upcoming film based on the Epic Ramayana.
