Vasai has been experiencing a series of murders, not long back on June 17.
The police in the Maharashtra town of Vasai had detained a murder suspect who had been on the run for ten years as said by an official.
According to senior inspector Rahul Rakh, the central crime unit of the MBVV police set up a trap and arrested the suspect Abdullah Choudhari (36) on Thursday in the Vasai neighbourhood of Dhaniv Baug.
He said that in February 2012, Choudhari killed the truck driver Mohammad Khan (45), and then fled with the truck carrying more than 14.210 tonnes of iron rods.
The officer estimated that the stolen products were worth a total of Rs 25 lakh. According to him, a case had been opened at the Waliv police station at the time, and the accused had been missing for several years.
Another similar incident took place in the month of May when a woman aged 45 was murdered. her name was Sangeeta Rebello. It was shockingly the woman’s boyfriend who killed the woman.
The reason for the murder as reported was because Sangeeta insisted to get married to the guy namely Ghag who was already married.
During their fight on Monday, Ghag went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and stabbed Sangeeta till she died from internal bleeding.
When Sangeeta’s other female friend saw the incident happen while she was visiting her and was a witness, she raised the alarm and told the neighbours.
Police from the Manickpur police station arrived at the apartment later and sent the body for an autopsy.
