The NASA American space agency will study unidentified phenomena in the sky which are not linked to any aircraft or recognised natural phenomenon.
American space agency NASA is planning to have a complete mission dedicated to studying unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). The phenomenon which makes no sense (unnatural) , completely unrecognised and not linked to an aircraft. In a statement, NASA said that the team will try to scientifically study the UAPs. The team’s research will focus on collecting and analysing the data. All the future such findings will be studied carefully to advance scientific knowledge of UAPs.
Challenges with study of UAPs
Very small number of cases of UAP observations are currently available hence, it makes it very difficult to draw any conclusions. These cases are very important as they are a danger to national security and aviation safety.
Due to lack of data it is the first task of NASA to gather the most robust data possible. NASA will be identifying the data that civilians, governments, companies and nonprofits have. This data will be collected and analysed precisely to make the most sense out of it.
Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for science at NASA headquarters in Washington, said in the release that NASA has a belief that all the tools of scientific discovery are powerful and apply in these cases too. He made it clear that NASA has a broad range of observations present on earth from space. They are the life and blood of scientific enquiry. NASA has the tools and team to who can understand the unknown.
UFO Sightings all Over the World
This kind of mission by NASA comes when the UFO sightings have increased, especially in the US. Recently in the state of Missouri several people witnessed a bright ball of light in the night sky. The UFO moved in the sky for an hour and people were baffled watching this event. Similar event was observed in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa where they saw a long green light in the sky. Many theories have been building up on social media after these events. As per News24 there were reports of a green asteroid looking object falling through the sky. In a few hours many people observed the same sightings.
This study will start this fall and last nine months costing no more than $100,000. It will be an entirely open study. The team will be led by astrophysicist David Spargel, president of the Simons Foundation for advancing scientific research.
