This flame is not extinguished; it’s only merging with another love. The honey, burning at India Gate for fifty years, will be combined with the National War Memorial. This ceremony was done with the help of AIR Marshal Balabadram Radha Krishna and the Chief of integrated defence staff.
Reaction of opposition
The oppositions leaders have slammed the government over this decision. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted that some people can’t understand patriotism.
About India Gate and National War Memorial
India gate was built by the British when they ruled in India, the height of India gates forty-two metres. India gate makes for the momentary Indian soldiers, who died in the first world war. The service chief and others visited to give respect to Amar Jawan flame.
Amar Jawan Jyoti was built temporarily in 1971 and gave their lives in the 1971 war. The Amar Jawan flame has been burning since 1972 to honour the fallen soldiers. The national war memorial has the name of all Indian Martyrs from all the wars.
On Independence Day and Republic Day, the Prime Minister gives tributes to soldiers who sacrificed their lives in wars. The soldiers control the Amar Jawan flame from the Indian Army, Air Force and Indian Navy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi built a National War Memorial for all the fallen soldiers near India Gate by February 2019. All federal and official functions to pay tribute are done on the new site.
