India’s National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and Tech AvantGarde (TAG), Microsoft’s global training partner, signed a collaboration agreement to improve the digital skills of educational stakeholders to enable a networked learning community (CLC).
NCERT & Tech Avant-Garde signal settlement to deliver digital transformation in schools.
They will collaborate to enhance Digital Transformation and Holistic Learning (DTHL) in education, in line with Digital India Campaign and National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
The Digital India campaign (2015) provides the creation of a basic IT / ICT infrastructure, the provision of services to citizens through portals, applications, etc., and the digital literacy of all citizens within a specified time frame.
A spokesperson for NCERT says: “At NCERT, we are working with Tech AvantGarde, Microsoft’s global training partner, to improve digital transformation and to learn as the National Education Policy (2020) supports the use and integration of ET / ICT / digital education in the classroom.
Learning, evaluation, electronic content development, digital resources for DIVYANG, continuous capacity development of teachers, management and educational control, etc.
It also emphasizes research on disruptive technologies and pilot projects that facilitate educational processes long before scaling into the system.
NCERT will, from time to time, identify appropriate online professional development-related courses from the course are shared by TAG that will be helpful for teachers to improve their digital skills.
TAG’s Role
TAG provides Microsoft course content in the NCERT approved format under the CCbyNCSA license.
The certificate for the course is offered jointly by NCERT and Microsoft / TAG according to the NCERT format.
L’avenir / Microsoft Learn URL will be added as part of the course instructions for further learning.
TAG, in collaboration with CIETNCERT, will run courses for NCERT members such as National Institute of Education (NIE), New Delhi [Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), New Delhi; Pandit Sundarlal Sharma Central Professional Education Institute (PSSCIVE), Bhopal; Regional Education Institute (RIE), Ajmer; Regional Educational Institute (RIE), Bhopal; Regional Education Institute (RIE), Bhubaneswar; Regional Education Institute (RIE), Mysore; and the Northeast Regional Education Institute (NERIE), Shillong.
TAG recently presented the Change Maker Awards from Tech AvantGarde (Microsoft Global Partner), Knowledge L’avenir, in partnership with Microsoft and the Rotary Club to 54 school principals in India. A special event in November 2020.
These schools have joined the Digital Transformation and Holistic Learning (DTHL) program; digitally trained teachers will teach, and the school will conduct online classes every day for all grade levels.
The teachers are certified by MIE (Microsoft Innovator Educator). DTML Coordinators Receive Digital Catalyst Certification; Knowledge L’avenir Conclave Presenters Receive Adroit Mentor Certification; Teachers with digital skills earn the Empowered Educator certification.
Students will receive the Connected Learner certification, and parents receive the Participatory Parent Certification.
Schools are also eligible to become Microsoft Showcase Schools. The professors who have given lectures at the Knowledge L’avenir Conclaves will get training as MIE trainers.
