Neeraj Chopra shared an emotional message after his exit from the Commonwealth games due to Groin Injury. On Tuesday, he informed the media that he would not be able to participate in the upcoming Commonwealth Games, which are going to be held in Birmingham.Â
Saddened by his inability to participate in the tournament, The golden boy of India took to Twitter and said that he is extremely disappointed that we will not be able to represent the country at Commonwealth Games. He further said that he sustained a groin injury during his fourth throw at the world athletics championship and has been advised by doctors to take a rest for a few weeks.
Moreover, he added that he is hurt about not being able to defend his title and missing out on an important opportunity. He is disappointed that he will not be able to bear India’s flag at the opening ceremony. However, he thanked the entire country for supporting him throughout his success and difficult phases and urged his countrymen to support his fellow mates for the Commonwealth Games.
In Neeraj’s absence, the responsibility will now be on youngsters Rohit Yadav and DP Manu to keep the Indian flag flying. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra will be looking forward to recovering as soon as possible and making India proud in the upcoming tournament. Also, he will be hoping that one of his teammates takes the medal home.Â
24-year-old javelin thrower scripted history when he won the Gold medal for India in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Moreover, Chopra recently won the silver medal at the World Athletics Champions in Eugene. He bagged the silver medal with a best throw of 88.13m. Neeraj missed out on the opportunity to win gold from his Grenadian counterpart by 2.41m.
