According to the new rules, there can be a maximum of 90 ice cream carts and 30 water trolleys that will be located in six vending locations. Each vending zone will have a minimum of 15 ice cream carts and five water kiosks.Â
The NDMC has stated that these trade licenses for the ice cream carts and water kiosks have already been issued.Â
These vending zones are as follows:
- South of C-Hexagon Road
- North of C-Hexagon Road
- South of Man Singh Road (both sides)
- South of Rafi Ahmed RoadÂ
- North of Rafi Ahmed Road
The NDMC has also asked district magistrates to ensure the deployment of civil defence volunteers for duty in the area for monitoring and law enforcement purposes.Â
The duty of these civil defence volunteers will be as follows:
- That there is the prescribed number of licensed carts and kiosks in one zone.
- Effective parking management.
- Prevent people from littering or jumping into the water bodies at Kartavya Path.
The Prime Minister had inaugurated the newly renovated Central Vista and christened it as Kartavya Path, which symbolised a shift from the Rajpath being a bastion of power to Kartavya Path being an example of public ownership and empowerment.
