Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation are working together to produce an animated musical movie ‘Spellbound’ which will tell the story of a girl who must bring peace by uniting a broken kingdom by breaking a curse that split the kingdom into two.
Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are all set to work together again after working in ’Being The Ricardos’. They have reunited top work in an upcoming animated musical feature called ‘Spellbound’. According to reports, they have joined the cast of the movie featuring Rachel Zegler in the titular role along with Jenifer Lewis, Andre De Shields, Jordan Fisher, Nathan Lane, and John Lithgow.
This movie is of the genre ‘Fantasy’ and is being jointly produced by Skydance Animation and Apple Original Films. The movie tells the story of a young girl who sets out on breaking a spell that tore her kingdom into two.
The titular role of Princess Ellian will be voiced by Rachel Zegler, Princess Ellian is a brave and spirited girl who sets out on a daring and a difficult quest to save her Kingdom of Lumbria after a dark enchanting spell alters her parents into scary monsters and to jeopardize her Kindom to forever condemnation and darkness, Nicole Kidman will voice the character of Queen Ellsmere of Lumbria with Javier Bardem voicing the character of the king yet boastful King Solon of Lumbria.
John Lithgow and Jenifer Lewis will provide voices to Princess Ellian’s Royal advisors, Minister Bolinar and Minister Nazara Prone. Nathan Lane and Andre De Shields will be voicing the characters of The Oracles of the Sun and Moon that Princess Ellian tries to reach to seek their counsel to break the mysterious curse in order to save her kingdom and her parents.
The script has been produced by Lauren Hynek, Linda Woolverton, and Elizabeth Martin. Vicky Jenson of Shrek will be directing this film.
The original score for the animated musical will be provided by the Academy Award winner Alan Menken and the lyrics will be provided by Glenn Slater. Chris Montan is the executive music producer for the animated musical.
Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, John Lasseter, and David Lipman are going to serve as producers on behalf of Skydance Animation.
