The trial for the murder of Nipsey Hussle has been going on for last three years since he was gunned down outside his clothing store in Los Angeles. The beloved rapper of south Los Angeles was killed by his former acquaintance Eric R. Holder Jr. The jury of this case have found the accused guilty of all charges. He is charged of first-degree murder.
The rapper was killed in front of his clothing store in Los Angeles on 31st march 2019. The rapper was also a community leader. Born Errmias Asghedom was a hip-hop artist and a father to two kids. He was killed when he was 33 years old in a parking lot outside his store, The Marathon.
Holder has a talk with Nipsey and to others at the store, but Holder was angered over the accusations of Nipsey that he was a snitch, according to the LA county Deputy District Attorney John McKinney. Holder later returned to the store with a gun. Multiple witnesses saw him walk to Nipsey and shot him. Holder and Hussle were childhood friends who grew up together and were members of a gang, said McKinney.
Holder was also charged with one count of first- degree murder along with two charges of attempted murder for two other people who were hurt during this incident. The jury has found the accused guilty of less charges in connection with the surviving victims of the shooting. Thus, landing instead on two charges of attempted voluntary manslaughter.
Nipsey was shot at least 10 times
He is now facing maximum life sentence in prison and is set to be sentenced in September. Videos and photos displayed in the trial show Holder fleeing the crime scene with a semi-automatic revolver. Nipsey Hussle was shot at least 10 times.
The accused was accused of premeditated murder in the opening statement. But this allegation was objected to by the defense attorney, Aaron Jansen. Jensen further said to the jury that Holder attacked the rapper in a fit of heated passion, a reaction due to the conversation they had before he had time to cool off. He also alleged that the charges are excessive as there was no premeditated plan to kill the rapper.
A woman who is said to be in a casual relationship with holder, Bryannita Nicholson said that she drove him to the store before the shooting, according to NBC Los Angeles. She further said that the pair was eating in her car when the accused told her that he will be right back and she should stay there. She shortly hurt the gunshots in Nipsey Hussle’s store. Later, the holder rushed back to her car and instructed her to drive.
