The National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) was declared on 15 July, 2022 (Friday) by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Education Minister of India. Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore has emerged as the best institution yet again in the NIRF latest ranking.Â
Detailed analysis on NIRF latest rankings:
The results were declared under eleven categories. The eleven categories are: overall, universities, colleges, research institutions, management, engineering, pharmacy, medical, dental, law and architecture.
Overall:Â
 The premier Indian Institute of Technologies (IIT) dominated the top position. There was a fierce competition between IIT Madras and Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. Like previous year, IIT Madras bagged the position because of the highest score of 87.59.
University:Â
According to NIRF latest rankings, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras topped this category followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Banaras Hindu University, Calcutta University and University of Hyderabad were Other notable institutions in the top ten .Â
Colleges:
The top notch colleges from Delhi University took away the majority of the top spots. Miranda House, an all girls college was ranked as the best college in India. Hindu College grabbed the second spot. Presidency College, Chennai and Loyola College, Chennai occupied the third and fourth positions respectively.
Engineering:Â
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras was the best engineering institution this year. IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay finished second and third in the ranking race.Â
Medical:
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi stole away the show like every year. PGIMER, Chandigarh took away the second spot. Christan Medical College, Vellore finished third.Â
Management:
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad maintained its reputation by coming in the first place. IIM, Bengaluru ranked second followed by IIM, Calcutta.
This was the seventh edition of NIRF ranking. Various top celebrities wished good luck to all the colleges. People hailing their top-notch colleges for a higher ranking showered their well wishes on social media.
