According to Russian state media, North Korea has graciously offered Russia 100K “volunteers” to help Russia in the fight against Ukraine.
North Korea plans to significantly boost Russia’s invasion with their offered troops.
It is reported that the pariah state had offered help to Russia in exchange for energy and crops from the Kremlin.
According to Regnum, a Russian news agency, the communist state also extended assistance in the war damage repair.
They are offering both reinforcements as well as builders.
“There are reports of Russia 100K soldiers offered by North Korean volunteers preparing to join the Russian-Ukraine War soon,” Igor Korotchenko, a reserve colonel and defense analyst, had stated on Russian Channel One.
Though, the statement made by Igor cannot yet be verified by North Korea till now.
Igor claimed that Kim Jong-Un’s soldiers are well-equipped with the art of counter-battery warfare, and are also experienced with artillery and missile systems.
Igor believes that Russia should gratefully accept the helping hand offered by Kim.
According to the New York Post, Kortechonko says that North Korea’s desire to fight against Ukraine’s fascism is the communist state’s international duty.
Counter-battery warfare could be a trump card for the Russian military and effective implementation could counter the US aid to Ukraine in the form of HIMARS(High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems)
According to a military expert on Insider, the high precision and long-ranged rockets have been a massive boost to Ukraine’s military arsenal.
Currently, North Korea is one of the most heavily militarised nations in the world.
It ranks fourth for the highest number of active-duty military personnel, just behind behemoths like India, the US, and China.
According to a South Korean newspaper Daily NK, on July 25 Russia demanded companies send thousands of workers to the Donbas region in Eastern Ukraine.
As the war is not over yet, the government is waiting for an appropriate time to dispatch the workers while carefully monitoring the situation on the ground.
There are also reports that the North Korean Workers Party is eager to work along with the Russians.
They are mostly concerned about the foreign money that will flow in with the Russian requests.
The Russian-Ukraine war has dragged on for five months now since it first shook the world in February.
Considering the slow invasion, North Korea’s support of Russia could prove to be helpful and can even boost’s morale for Russia.
Head of MI6 Richard Moore claims that Vladimir Putin is also running out of steam in capturing Kyiv, which earlier he had deemed as an easy task for the Russian military.
The news was first discussed around the time when Russia was accused of terrorist attacks near Ukraine’s nuclear plants.
Will the unverified claim become true of North Korea offering Russia 100k volunteers?
It is unlikely to predict certain future events, especially when concealed by the wartime fog but it is believable that Russia will consider some help from other nations after depleting resources from the prolonged war.
Both Russia and North Korea are fighting off extreme domestic and international problems with uncertain outcomes.
Both nations have few resources, seclude themselves from the rest of the world, and are also going to face heavy situations like war and seasonal famines.
North Korea’s Outrage against the US
Currently, North Korea has expressed disappointment and anger over U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to South Korea.
North Korea called her the “destroyer of international peace and stability” on Saturday.
Jo Yong Sam, director general at the North Korean Foreign Ministry’s press and information affairs department, went as far as threatening the US that the nation might have to pay dearly for the troubles caused by Pelosi.
Will Russia accept North Korea’s generous offer?
It is uncertain to say that Russia will or will not take up North Korea’s offer for now. The nation is already battling off heavy sanctions imposed by the rest of the world and depleting military personnel and workers might force the superpower to take up some help from North Korea.
The nations previously had friendly diplomatic relationships.
The war also shows no signs of getting over yet, with the constant aid provided by the US and other western nations to Ukraine, Russia had been forced into a difficult position. North Korea’s extended hand of help might become its saving grace.
