State media reported on Sunday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has directed facilities building missile engines, firearms, and other equipment to increase production as a crucial aspect of strengthening the nation’s military forces.
While some, like the US, claim North Korea is selling weapons to Russia, it is thought that Pyongyang is making a display of its strength and power with the help of its artillery.

Kim might have promised to back Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The nation has sided with Russia in the conflict, claiming that due to the “hegemonic policy” of the US-led forces in the West, Moscow was forced to defend itself.
Why the Sudden Boost in Weapon Production?
According to state news agency KCNA, Kim’s inspection from Thursday to Saturday covered the fabrication of shells for transporter-erector-launchers, ultra large-calibre multiple-rocket launchers, and engines for strategic cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the conclusion of the previous week, Kim Jong Un visited armaments factories and observed the creation of rocket launchers, aerial vehicles, and cruise missiles. The “crucial duties and responsibilities in strengthening North Korea’s war preparedness” were another point he emphasised.
Last week, the North Korean leader led a massive military parade through the North Korean capital in which he unveiled new missiles designed to strike targets in the United States and South Korea. He was accompanied by Mr. Shoigu and a representative of China’s party in power.
Kim Joug Un made a series of extraordinary visits over several days to various arms factories at a time when Pyongyang is pushing to develop a number of conventional and strategic weapons and holds prominent exhibitions of a variety of weaponry.
North Korea has tested improved cruise missiles, solid-fuel transcontinental ballistic missiles, launchers for rockets with bigger calibre shells, and its latest ballistic missiles in the past month. Kim mentioned enhanced automation and precision manufacturing in the manufacture of large-calibre multiple-rocket launcher shells. Pictures of Kim firing several assault rifles with flame explosions emanating from the muzzle as he took aim at an out-of-focus target were captured.
US Accuses North Korea of Supplying Arms to Russia
On July 27, Pyongyang hosted an enormous military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the close of the Korean War, showcasing its most recent assault and spy drones, nuclear-capable missiles, and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu joined Kim in the reviewing stand.
Kim showed Defence Minister Shoigu around a massive defence exhibition’s display of ballistic missiles and what looked similar to a brand-new strike drone.
The United States has accused North Korea of supplying “substantial” quantities of ammunition for artillery to Russia to be utilised in its conflict with Ukraine. A consignment of infantry rockets and missiles was also delivered to the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary organisation.
Both North Korea and Russia have refuted the assertions.
After a succession of missile tests from the North, including some with sophisticated cruise missiles, tensions on the Korean peninsula are still high.
If the claims of the United States are in fact true, and Kim Jong Un is an ally to Russia and supplying armaments to them in this Russia-Ukraine War, this might not prove to be good news for Ukraine or the rest of the world for that matter.
