According to the RIA news agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that if a third World War occurred, it would entail nuclear weapons and be devastating.
Lavrov has stated that if Ukraine acquires nuclear weapons, Russia, which started a “special military operation” against it last week, will face a “serious risk.”
This coincided with Russia’s allegation that its troops had gained control of land surrounding Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya nuclear power facility, as diplomats convened for an emergency conference to express their growing worry about safety as combat progressed.
Furthermore, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced Russia’s nuclear deterrent troops to be on “special” alert.
A week after commencing its invasion of Ukraine, Russia said on Wednesday that its soldiers had taken control of the first significant city, Kherson, in the south, as combat continued throughout the country and Western nations pulled an economic noose against Russia.
A week after commencing its invasion of Ukraine, Russia said on Wednesday that its soldiers had taken control of the first significant city, Kherson, in the south, as combat continued throughout the country and Western nations pulled an economic noose against Russia.
After Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized a full-scale invasion of his southern neighbor about a week ago, more than 500,000 Ukrainians have escaped the conflict.
Russian bombardments of Ukrainian towns have intensified, with footage released on social media displaying extensive structural damages in and around Kharkiv; pictures of the city’s citizens who have faced injuries due to the conflict have also taken social media by storm. Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second-largest city.
“Even though he may gain on the battleground, he will continue to pay a high price in the long term,”
stated US President Joe Biden in his State of the Union speech. Biden deviated from the planned statement and said, “He has no idea what’s coming.” However, he was restrained from giving any details.
Ukrainian soldiers have met and continue to meet the invaders’ advances with ferocious combat. A miles-long Russian military convoy north of Kyiv has made little headway towards the city.
Zelensky stated in a video message on Wednesday that approximately 6,000 Russians had been murdered during the first six days of Moscow’s invasion by the Russian “peacemakers.” He also said that the Kremlin would not take over his nation with explosives and air raids.
Biden increased restrictions against Russia by joining the European Union and Canada, barring Russian jets from entering US territory.
He also stated that the Justice Department would attempt to confiscate wealthy Russians with links with Putin.
The Kremlin started a military attack in Ukraine last week, continuing; ever since the shelling and bombarding of its towns began, Russia has been in the face of enormous worldwide outrage and harsh Western sanctions.
Russia has justified its intervention of Ukraine as a unique operation to demilitarize and “degasify” the nation, which Kyiv and the West have denounced as propaganda.
India and Operation Ganga
Meanwhile, India abstained from voting in the UNGA, the act of “balance” was appreciated by Russia.
Indians from the worn-torn region are being brought back to the nation under ‘Operation Ganga.’ So far, 6000 Indian students and citizens out of 20,000 have been brought back to India from Ukraine.
Eight planes under Operation Ganga have arrived in India in the previous 24 hours, resulting in 17 flights.
Because the number of stranded people is significant, Muraleedharan stated that defence planes are being employed to bring the citizens back to India.
