Opposition Leaders Address Concerns to PM Modi in Letter
During the political fight over the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party( AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, eight opposition parties have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, criminating him of misusing central disquisition agencies to go after them.
The Congress has abstained from subscribing to the letter inked by opposition leaders similar to Chief Ministers K Chandrashekar Rao, Mamata Banerjee, Bhagwant Mann, and Arvind Kejriwal. The DMK, Nitish Kumar’s JDU, and HD Kumaraswamy’s JDS have all remained silent on the issue.
Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference, Sharad Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party, Uddav Thackeray of the Sena, Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav have also inked the letter.
The Enforcement Derocatarte is probing the Gandhis for an alleged plutocrat laundering case in connection with Young Indian’s accession of Associated Journals Ltd, which possessed the National Herald Newspaper. Both Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi were questioned by the ED at one time.
The letter said, “ We hope you agree that India remains a popular country. The despicable actions of central agencies against opposition groups seems to indicate that we’ve moved from a republic to authoritarianism.”
It was further written that the opponents have seen the topmost number of crucial politicians reserved, arrested, raided, or interrogated by disquisition agencies under your administration since 2014. Unexpectedly, disquisition agencies take their time with cases involving opposition politicians who join the BJP
The opposition politicians used the case of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was under disquisition by the CBI and the ED in 2014 and 2015 for his part in the Saradha fund fiddle
while still a member of Congress.
Following a lengthy witch quest, Manish Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation( CBI) in connection with contended irregularities with no substantiation against him, the opposition leaders wrote to PM Modi.
“There has been a substantial rise in the number of raids, cases filed against opposition leaders since the year 2014. Whether it was Lalu Prasad Yadav (RJD), Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena), Azam Khan (Samajwadi Party), Nawab Malik, Anil Deshmukh( NCP), or Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), central agencies have constantly raised reservations that they were acting as extended bodies of the ruling division at the centre.
In numerous of these cases, the timing of the cases filed or apprehensions made coincided with choices, indicating unequivocally that they were politically motivated, according to the opposition leaders’ letter.
Mr Sisodia was detained for corruption allegations in the expression of Delhi’s alcohol policy. The BJP has dismissed the AAP’s political vendetta argument and said that indeed though he served as the Education Minister and did some work to enhance seminaries, he just can’t employ that as a cover to engage in loose practices.
The Delhi BJP spokesperson, Praveen Shankar Kapoor said on Friday that it’s extremely opprobrious that, indeed after Sisodia’s arrest, the government in Delhi has not stopped its dirty politics in the name of education and has now stooped as low as involving innocent academy children in it, pertaining to an alleged plan to set up ‘I Love Manish Sisodia’ divisions in Delhi government seminaries to gather support for their arrested leader. According to the AAP it is a fake news cooked over to blemish the image of Delhi government by the BJP.
