On Monday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that “beyond 1.5 crore adolescents in the 15-18 years age group nationwide are fully vaccinated against COVID-19”. The Minister also tweet, “Young India is fighting the pandemic with full vigor. Over 1.5 crore youngsters between the 15-18 age group are fully vaccinated now.”
According to Union Health Ministry data, over 70 percent of beneficiaries in the same age group have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so far.
According to RGI [the Registrar General of India], the approximate population aged 15-18 years is 7.4 crores for 2021-22. Although the vaccination of children aged 15-18 years starts on January 3, 2022, all over the country.
As per the records till today, around 173.38 crores of Covid vaccine doses have been administered in India. The daily vaccination records are expected to uplift.
On Monday, the union minister said that the cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country excel 173.38 crores.
