Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world-class Yashobhoomi Centre on his birthday, 17th September,2023. He took a fun ride on the Airport Express Line of Delhi Metro from Dwarka Station 21 to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 station. He cheerfully interacted with all the passengers in the metro. After the inauguration, he spoke to the workers. The PM took a tour of the centre. He visited the exhibition that presented and expressed the idea of the Guru-Shishya tradition and developed technology. The artisans and craftsmen had put up their stalls at the expo centre.PM Modi interacted with them and discussed about their work.On 16th September, PM announced that the project is a milestone and a big step towards sustainability. He added that the project has a modern wastewater treatment system and special provisions for a Rainwater harvesting system.
The Yashobhoomi Centre
The project is estimated to be Rs 5,400 Crore Project. It spans an area of 73,000 square metres. The building comprises the main auditorium, the grand ballroom and 13 meeting rooms. It has the largest LED media facade in the country. The convention centre will host conferences and exhibitions like the Bharat Mandapam.PM Modi expressed his hopefulness and said the project will attract diplomats and tourists from different countries. The centre can hold 11,000 delegates. The materials used to design the giant structure were inspired by Indian art and culture. The Grand Ballroom has a mesmerising petal ceiling. It has a capacity of 2,500 guests and 500 people in the open area. Yashobhoomi will be one of the largest exhibition halls. It will organise exhibitions and trade fairs. The skylights in the ballroom will filter light in the copper ceiling.

Sarbanda Sonowal praised the PM for the Launch of Yashobhoomi. He said the project will help develop the marginalised community and the ecosystem.Pashupati Kumar Paras, the Union minister, said that the Prime Minister is working effortlessly for the marginalised and poor.
The Vishwakarma Scheme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launced the Vishwakarma scheme in New Delhi on the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. The scheme will support the workers engaged in arts and crafts. This scheme was introduced during Independence Day. This scheme will allow the government to reach the socially backward and marginalised communities. The Central government has financed the scheme worth 13,000 crore. The amount willl be paid to traditional artists and sculptors from marginalised communities and socially backward classes. Vishwakarma was the craftsman who made the weapons for the gods. He built their chariots and cities. According to legends, he made the image of Jagannath at Puri.
These Craftsmen do not have professional training or modern machinery and tools. They cannot travel to markets due to the distance. There are 18 such sectors fall under this scheme. The sectors include cobblers, boatmakers, armourers, blacksmiths, potters, masons, tailors and more.Under this scheme, the workers will be registered at the PM Vishwakarma Portal. It is a bio-metric portal where these artists can register themselves freely.
