The Atal Bridge, named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, over Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad, Gujarat is to be launched today, on August 27th. Honorable PM Modi himself will do the inauguration of the pedestrian-only overbridge.
Another public attraction spot, The Atal Bridge, is all set to inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister Modi himself. The bridge is on the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and is pedestrian-only. It’s name is after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and has a massive structure.
The bridge is 300 metres long and has LED lights that reflect in the river making it look fantastic. The Municipal Corporation tweeted about the bridge happily informing us about that PM Narendra Modi will do the inauguration.

Structure of Atal Bridge
The sheer beauty of the structure is enthralling and PM Modi couldn’t stop himself from calling the bridge “Spectacular”. Along with the compliment, he also provided some pictures of, the new tourist attraction, The Atal Bridge.
PM Modi also said that he’ll be in Gujarat for two days and will also take part in the Khadi Utsav in the evening. The event will be organised at the Sabarmati Riverfront. Talking about the programme he said that, “this programme celebrates India’s vibrant and diverse Khadi tradition”.
Infrastructure and Materials
The bridge connects the flower park on its western side with the arts and cultural exhibition centre on the eastern side. The foot overbridge used 2,600 metric tonnes of steel pipes in its construction. Colourful and vibrant fabric is used for making the roof while the railing is built of glass and stainless steel.
The people will be able to approach the bridge from both lower and upper walkways or promenades of the riverfront. The bridge allows cyclists along with pedestrians.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Smriti Van Memorial in Bhuj on Sunday August 28th, 2022.
